Taming the Savage Breast

"The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them changes both the maker and their destination."

Day 1... of the rest of my life

Yesterday, I was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. I'm lucky.

I'm lucky because I seem to have discovered this uncommon and aggressive form of cancer in its earliest stages. In other words, there's still time to keep it from being completely devastating.

I'm going to post to this blog regularly to give you, my friends and family, a place to keep up-to-date on the latest information about what's going on with me while I battle this. I welcome questions and open conversations about this, so feel free to contact me directly. But, when you can't get in touch with me, or when I'm just not feeling well enough to chat, this blog can serve as your source for the latest info.

I was just diagnosed yesterday, and I don't see my oncologist until Tuesday, so I won't really have a whole lot of information until then. In the meantime, I'll post some background info about how I discovered it and what I've been through so far.

Today, I'm doing really well and have a great attitude. No, a super-fantastic attitude! SFA!! That's me. :)
